Once again, not much sleep.
Karen's cousin Phil left fairly early, and I though about going back to bed, but I decided to wait it out 'til the stores opened and get what I needed and then go to bad.
I was at Sam's when they opened and filled out the paperwork for the HD (the price had dropped by ten bucks) and went to stand in line... there was only one line open, and a fat lady with a full cart butted in ahead of me.
I smiled pleasantly at her, but she kept giving me these furtive glances, wondering if I was going to explode on her. Rather amusing.
So I got the drive and went home. Well, you can guess the rest... I decided to stay up for just a little while.
Yeah, I got to sleep about 13:30, but I got everything set up mostly. I wound up not losing any data... but I can't use my printer or scanner or video input card... so no pictures for a while. I did notice that there are drivers for my video input card for Linux, but I'm running it in text made because I don't have an extra video card for the monitor.... it'll only do text, so I'm outa luck there.
And Tyler came home.
We talked for a while, with me doing the talking. When he's been smoking dope for a while, he will just sit there and nod his head and mumble... when he's been sober for a while, he will talk directly to me.
I explained to him that my love for him was unconditional... but my help, and his continuance of his present living accommodations, wasn't.
I told him that he had two choices: drug rehab or the street. And he was having trouble deciding.
He left to go fix a sandwich and went downstairs, and I haven't seen him since... I don't know if he's sleeping or what, but it's his turn to talk, and he knows where to find me...
I told him that he needed to be out by tomorrow night.
19:43...
His truck is gone, and so, I assume, is he. He does have friends that he can stay with for a few days.
I went to sleep about 05:30 and got up at 10:00, then I went back to bed at 14:30 and slept until 19:30, so I should be in good shape for tonight. It was yet another beautiful day here in Topeka, but it's supposed to start getting hot near the end of the week.
Another strange shoe tale: Karen went to Sam's on Saturday, and she picked up some shoes for her and a pair for me... some sort of flip-flops. I put them on and they felt funny, and when I tried walking they felt even funnier... I decided that I didn't like them at all. Looking at them later, I found out why... one was a size 12, and it felt all right, but the other one was a size 10! No wonder they felt funny. I was worried that one of my feet was growing and the other one wasn't...
And I'm sitting here wondering if Tyler is going to leave voluntarily, or if I'm going to have to change the locks...
More tomorrow...
I got some sleep... and so did Tyler.
