Natterings, Notions
and
Notes

Well, I need to admit that I was wrong. I know, I know, it's a rare event... that I was wrong, not that I would admit it.

Last night... well, practically nothing happened.

No running, only one trauma, and the lady wasn't seriously injured.

Rather nice, compared to the night before.

I've got to run some errands today... go get the car tags, get signed up for on-line banking, stuff like that. O'yeah, take care of some insurance stuff...

Then sleep. I didn't do well yesterday, couldn't get to sleep until about 13:00, although I started trying at 09:00. Man, I hate it when that happens, especially before a twelve-hour night. I'll probably get eight today, I'm a-hoping...

Dammit! Karen's got the checkbook, but I've got several extra covers stashed around here somewhere, but I can't find them. I think that it looks really tacky to use a checkbook without a cover.

Well, right, when have I ever shied away from looking tacky, after all? Tacky is my middle name, according to my first wife... and maybe my present one, too...

OK, I'm on my way... maybe more later...

09:33...
Well, paying the taxes wasn't all that bad... the process, anyway. It still hurts the checkbook a lot.

Normally, we pay the real estate taxes twice annually, but I skipped the last two, because of lack of money. I thought that I'd wait until we got our tax refund back. So we got it back, and it just barely covers the R.E. taxes and the auto taxes. What a bitch, huh? But the interest they charge is like three percent.... hard to borrow money at that rate!

So, the rest of the morning will be taken up with paying the bills and getting all of the receipts off of my desk and into Quicken. A big hassle, but I really like having the checkbook being nice and neat.

To work, to work, then to sleep, then to work at 21:00 tonight. Only three more nights to go... then a three-day weekend. I still don't know how I'm gonna handle that, whether I'll attempt a turn-around or not...

More tomorrow...

Thanx for being here!
