Another late night. And again, an early morning... I woke up about 04:30 during a thunderstorm. Or maybe it was 05:30... anyway, I went out and got the paper, then I went back to bed.
And slept until 10:30. I was pretty happy about that. Karen slept in, too... something about the rain makes it hard to get up, or maybe just easy to sleep.
That would be really odd, though, since I can't hear the rain over my noise machine... so that can't be the reason, can it?
It's been a beautiful day here, high around 80F or so. I didn't do much, though. Liquidweb was down again, and I couldn't get mail or anything, dammit. So I got the new mouse working, except for the drivers that they included with the mouse don't include the model that I bought. So I went to the MS site to get the new drivers... and they were exactly the same.
How they can make a product and release and ship it without the drivers is something that I can't quite fathom... but they ARE MicroSoft, after all... they can get by with anything.
It does work quite well, however, except for the two side buttons can't be programmed because the drivers don't think that they're there, but aside from that, it works as promised. No mouse ball at all. It uses optical sensing... why the hell didn't I think of that?
So anyway, I should never have to buy another mouse. At least for this machine, anyway. And eventually, they'll have the right drivers available.
The kid that's buying the Caddie just stopped by to tell me that he was on his way to get the rest of the money... he's not real dependable, I don't think. Supposed to be here yesterday, then this morning, then this afternoon... he tried calling, but he was using an anonymous number, which we don't answer anymore.
I really hate it when do-nothing days wear me out, but this one has for sure done that. Karen and I fixed a good dinner and watched the millionaire show, and I'm ready for some sleep. More tomorrow...
