Natterings, Notions
and
Notes

I did take a little nap yesterday. It was nice, slept about three hours.

The fellow who has been wanting to buy the Caddie for the last year actually came over with some money... not what I wanted, but enough to get it out of the driveway and out of my life. So it's gone. He's supposed to come over tomorrow with the rest of what we agreed on...

Kim stayed over last night, since Steve had the kids. Steve has moved out again, and Kim isn't used to being alone in her house yet, I guess. Anyway, they (Karen and Kim) rented "The Sixth Sense" and we watched that... excellent movie, I thought. Didn't get to bed until after 01:00 though and I was up at 05:30...

I really wish that I'd quit doing that.

Steve brought the kids over before 08:00 so he could go to work, and then Lacee talked me into going out and buying donuts. Well, she can talk me into about anything, and she knows it. Really, she can talk just about anybody into anything...

I didn't really get much done all day, it seems. After Kim and the kids left I laid down for a bit but I couldn't sleep so I got back up. Shortly after, Andy called... Drew was coming over for a while.

Andy and Karla picked Drew up around 19:00 or so, and Karen and I went out to do some shopping and eat. First stop was Sam's, where we got a new phone with an answering machine and some plastic storage boxes for clothes... Karen is cleaning out her closets. We also picked up a coupla shirts for me for $10.00 each... about the most that I will willingly pay for a shirt.

I also splurged and got an optical intellimouse... pretty neat if it'd work.

Then on to Sears, where I bought two new pairs of Levi 501s and some socks. You can never have too many socks.

Then... food. And Karen and I had a first... there is a new restaurant that she'd never been to, and I got to go with her! Usually Kin or Matt get the honor of christening a new place with Karen...

The place was Sooper Salad or something stoopid like that. Not too bad, fresh salad stuff and a variety of soup, all you can eat for $5.39. Good deal, I was stuffed. Quit eating before my plate was empty, in fact.

OK... we have this county treasurer named Rita Cline. She's always in trouble for some reason or another, but we keep voting her back in... but she won't get any more of my votes.

Seems that she caused posters with "In God We Trust" to be places in conspicuous places in the offices that she controls... like the places where you go to pay your taxes.

One of our local people called her on it and asked that the posters be removed to comply with the constitution. Rita wrote her a letter back saying no, and that the woman was a pagan and an unpatriotic american and that she didn't honor her country's motto and other bullshit in the same vein.

So the lady sent the letter to the ACLU and they're suing the county and Rita to have them removed. It'll be interesting, it will.

More tomorrow... gonna try to get this new mouse working, and the MS software has locked up this machine twice already...

Thanx for being here!
