Not too much hard work last night... it was just steady. Not much running.
Unfortunately, I got up about 13:00 and could not get back to sleep; I had a hard time staying awake from about 01:00 on.
I did have an interesting patient last night... a lady that I'd xrayed about four years ago. She remembered me quite well, she said, and called me a nut. She told one of the nurses that I was a "hoot"... and I didn't remember her at all, naturally. She was a fun patient, though. And not seriously hurt, thankfully.
And my legs never seriously hurt.
Mostly because I decided that, since it wasn't the arterial supply that was bad, that maybe Tylenol would help, and I think that it did. That, and the fact that I wasn't running all night...
I think that I need to get a sit-down job somewhere. The problem with that is that I would hate it. I love having the freedom to roam around, to do different things in different places throughout the hospital... to interact with the patients, hard as that is sometimes.
Karen is constantly bringing home job opportunities from the MIS department at BC/BS. Programming. I know that I could do it, but would I really want to? Especially in a place as big and dry as Blue Cross? I really don't think so....
Anyway.
I cut my toenails after I showered yesterday, and I cut the right fourth one way too short, and it hurt all night long. I seem to do that about once a year.
And I started worrying about it, 'cause I've seen diabetics and others with impared pedal circulation lose their feet from doing stuff like that, then I remembered... my circulation isn't impaired. All I have to worry about is the pain, and that's only a little pain and it'll soon be gone.
I now have two more nights to work... tens, both of them. Then I'm off for five, and JD will be up sometime on Thursday and I will have time to enjoy his visit... I think that he can be here a week. I'm looking forward to seeing him!
And I'm looking forward to sleeping, too, and I think that I'll go get started on that now.
