Hard night. Legs hurt, too.

But fun, for some reason. Lotsa patients, and the damned CT machine went down on me again, but other than that, things went well. Good group of people there, I think that's what it was. It's amazing how one sour person in the workgroup can make everything taste bad about a night.

Anyway... right now I'm waiting for another return call from Dr. Allen, the radiologist who has dilated my iliacs the last two times. My doc scheduled me at St. Francis, knowing that it was my preference, but I noticed on the radiologist's schedule that the angiographer that was on there was not Dr. Allen... he's on at the other hospital. So he's trying to figger out if I should go over there or if he can come over to St. Francis... either way, he's going to be the one to do it. The only problem would be that if I have to have the surgery, it will be at my hospital.

I would prefer to die amongst friends, at least. (joke! Joke!)

Well, maybe no joke.

Actually, the legs are better today than I expected them to be... maybe part of the pain was from the exercise from the treadmill.

Nah... that's wishful thinking. I've gotten used to it, is all. Wednesday night I was limping pretty bad, and Thursday night too, but it doesn't really help much to limp when both legs hurt. So last night I consciously tried to not limp, over-riding the pain, and it seemed to work better.

Also, I must confess that part of the pain problem was self-pity. Did you know that when you feel sorry for yourself you actually are more aware of the pain? That's my theory, anyway.

I do not plan to carry it so far as to be walking around on bloody stumps, however...

However, just sitting here, my legs are tingling, like they're about half-asleep. That's with no exercise at all.

OK, moving right along here...
A post card from my, er, proctologist. He wants to look at my colon again. Yeah, I know, he's a sick man. That won't happen until this other thing is done with, though.

Actually, colonoscopies aren't too bad. Lotsa drugs, and pretty pictures to boot.

And speaking of boots... this 17-year-old driver in an MVA last night was wearing boots with spikes on the toes. I don't know if they were for real or for show, but he was a skinny little twerp (well, I don't really know how twerpy he was, he had a closed-head injury, and you can throw your personality assessments out the window with those people...) but if he were to go beating up on somebody he should really use a gun...

11:19... still awaiting the Doc's call. I didn't tell him that I'm working tonight and that I have to go to sleep, but he'll figger it out when the answering machine comes on...

More tomorrow.

Thanx for being here!
