Well, the coffee didn't keep me awake... but I didn't go to bed until after 01:00, and the kids were still up.
I slept well, got up at 07:00 and saw that it was a beautiful day, went out and smoked a cigarette... and went back to bed.
I finally got up at 10:30 or thereabouts, feeling pretty damned good. Got the kids up at 11:30, I was getting bored (the computer is in JD's bedroom) and needed someone to play with.
We had a very pleasant day, essentially doing nothing. About 16:00 I started wanting a large chocolate malt... so we went out and bought some malt and some ice cream and I made up about a gallon... it was excellent, of course, and very filling.
A little later, Lara made the statement that she'd never had ham and eggs... or maybe she said that last night, and it just finally sunk in. Well, I'd bought a ham yesterday, so we decided to feed her ham and eggs.
Ran into a problem, though... JD had put the ham in the freezer. It thawed out enough in the microwave to slice parts of it off in about a half-hour, though. So Lara got ham and eggs... I think that she was impressed, maybe.
And I was pretty impressed with Lara, I must admit. Of course, I'm easily impressed by pretty girls who laugh at my jokes...
Well, JD has to go to classes tomorrow, and Lara has to get up early and go to work... Lara lives on the other side of Houston, and works downtown, so she decided to go to work from here to save about three hours of driving time. And it's bedtime...
