Natterings, Notions
and
Notes

A long night, boring at times, not boring at other times. Still, it made me tired, even though I got a good sleep yesterday, with the CPAP on for a change...

An ambulance brought a guy in about 03:00 who was found in a car that had been wrecked... he had a bottle of Bud Light, half-full, between his legs, and he was passed out in the driver's seat, and his car was totaled. He appeared to be uninjured, but he was fully restrained on a spine board when they brought him in.

Well, legally, they couldn't get him for driving drunk, since they hadn't seen him actually driving, and he claimed that he didn't hit anything. But the police were there questioning him, and got him to submit to a blood alcohol test. The doc examined him and found nothing wrong (significantly for me, no x-rays) and the guy was up and walking around.

But he wouldn't let it go... wouldn't keep his mouth shut, and one of the cops told him to pipe down and sit down... and he wouldn't do that. Eventually the cop handcuffed him and they took him off to book him.

If the guy would've just shut up, he could've got off, at least for most of the charges... but he was either too drunk or just plain stupid. And there are plenty of people around who are either or both, I guess.

The most significant item of the night, though, was when I broke the CT machine... or rather, it broke down while I was using it. For a new machine, it sure breaks down a lot, usually when I'm running it.

So I had to call in my backup, and she tried to get it working and failed, which made me feel not so bad about it. So we did the patients on the back-up machine, the Ultra-Z, which I trained on a coupla months ago, or whenever it was...

Today is Lacee's birthday party... her birthday isn't until Tuesday, I think, but today's the party day... she's having a skating party, and I'm gonna have to miss it, dammit...

Anyway, I gotta go to sleep... more tomorrow.

Thanx for being here!
