Better. Much, much better.

Although, as I walked in (late for real this time) the file clerk was telling the other techs that this was her last night, that she would just walk out but she hated to leave them in such a mess.

Ill bodings, indeed. However, our file room has been in a mess ever since they moved so far away (oh my aching feet!) from the main work area. We all used to be able to help each other, now we hardly ever see each other... and their turnover is pretty bad. By the time someone gets trained, the seek other opportunities, it seems.

Anyway, we ran until about 23:00, then when the other tech left the pace slowed down appropriately. Then about 01:00 it tapered off... and I did my last ED patient about 02:30. Only had two ICU people to do. So I rested my feet... but not until after I'd gotten all of my work done for the first time in two months or so.

I'd like to think that the tide has turned, but I know better than to think that way. It's not over yet, but I did enjoy my brief respite.

And I will enjoy the next week off...

Karen was still home when I got here, and we talked about what to do this weekend and I vainly tried to persuade her to stay home with me. Then she went over to feed Matt's cat(Falstaff, formerly Monster) (Matt is spending his last day in jail for the last DUI... five days and he's ready to come home...) and go on to work.

I was downstairs talking to Tyler when we heard footsteps upstairs... I came up to investigate and found Karen! She wouldn't stay home the whole day with me, but it was a nice interlude and a wonderful surprise...

One of Karen and Kim's friends got fired from BC/BS last week, allegedly for abusing her access to the internet... so Kim isn't reading this page anymore. She has her own computer at home, and she could be reading on her own time... but anyway, that means that I'm free to talk about her now.

On the other hand, that might not be too prudent...

12.jpg As I mentioned yesterday, I haven't been getting up too well lately... last night it was 18:45 when Karen woke me... and I'm supposed to be at work at 19:00. I was fifteen minutes late...

Weird sleeping yesterday, too... the float time right before I went to sleep merged into the dream time kinda interestingly. I woke up at noon for about 20 minutes, then went back and slept dreamlessly for the rest of the day... again, sleeping right through the alarm, without even hitting the snooze bar. Weird.

Anyway, I'm glad to be able to walk away from the hospital with a little spring in my step, not feeling like I've been beaten up. And now it's almost noon, and I think that I'll take a little nap.

O'yeah! This is brother Dan's Official Birthday!

Happy birthday, Dan'l!

Thanx for being here!
