I ran until about 02:00, then things settled down to about four patients per hour. But I'm really drug down by the preceding week of long, hard nights. I need to recycle my body, or something.
And I've got a lot of work to do around here... and two young men to help me, so I can't lose this opportunity... but I'm going to take a nap first!
More later....
18:58...
Karen and I went to Casa, a mexican restaurant, and met Kim and Patrick... the kids are out of school, and Kim and Karen are both off, but Lacee wanted to go to the sitter's anyway...
So, I'm fighting off sleep as hard as I can... I decide to go to Office Depot and get hard drives for the boys. And my card is rejected, although there's plenty of space on it. By the time I get back home, Karen and Kim have left for the mall (shudder) with Patrick. Shortly after, JD is up for the day, and then Tyler, so I get them working on the fallen-down roof on the back deck.
Then Karen comes home with Lacee, and we three go back out to Office Depot with Karen's card, which works... bring the drives home, plus an auto-sensing 10/100 hub. Right now, JD is transferring all of his song files onto Tyler's C: drive, then he'll install the 13.6 Gig drive and transfer them back, plus all of Tyler's song files. Then Tyler will install his drive and get all of his files back. And I'll get back the two drives that I've let them use for my Linux project. Which is going to happen someday soon, I think?
And while all of that is going on, I think that I'll go to bed. Karen and I are going to be celebrating the centennial at home here alone, I think... I'm not really sure what JD and Tyler are going to do.
Ah, but I stayed up... helping JD install his drive now, with problems galore... until I remembered a trick. And remember... remembering anything, for me, right now, is a trick. Anyway, the trick is... RTFM and follow the instructions on the screen. OK, that's the lesson for the day...
Nap didn't happen, but I did lay down and rest for two hours... couldn't nod off. S'OK, though...
