Again, a long day. Got to bed late, up early... you know the pattern by now.
It was kinda fun, though... I worked in CT until noon, then I gladly left. Came home and did some stuff and played with old computer pieces, thinking that I could put a rudimentary system together and put RedHat Linux 6.1 on it before the other board got here. After about ten hours, though, I think that I'll just wait. I've got everything going, except for the CDROM. I've got a coupla old ones, they should work just fine, but nothing but problems with them, dammit. I'll probably pull the 24X out of my new machine with the CD Writer in it and use that when the new board comes in. I'm planning on pulling some of the memory from that machine anyway... it's got 192 MB but WIN98 isn't really any more effective with that than it is with 64 MB, and the Linux system can use every byte of it.
Cold today. About time, actually... it suddenly seems like November. All of the leaves have been gone for two weeks, but it's still been mild and beautiful... and that's all ove now.
It started raining today about 14:00, and has been off and on since then, with some pretty strong thunderstorms and some heavy rain occasionally. Heavy snow, though, in Denver, where the Broncos are just barely getting beat by the Raiders right now.
I'm going to try to stay up late tonight, but I'm not really sure how much longer I can endure being awake...
