I woke up this morning at 05:35 sneezing. Time and time again... and I still am, occasionally. Something is tickling my right maxillary sinus in a place that cannot be scratched, if you know what I mean... sneezing doesn't do it, but I keep sneezing anyway.
What a bother.
And this, after getting to sleep around 02:00.
I think that the cat Sam has something to do with it, he slept with us last night. But I had the CPAP on (which I had to hastily remove once I started sneezing) so I shouldn't have been breathing his dander, so that kinda eliminates him.
Speaking of Sam, he is a sweet cat, likes to snuggle and all of that cat stuff... but he's terrified of the Monster. He's a pussy.
Well, of course he is. But he's a wimpy pussy.
Anyway, I did get an early start today, but I decided that I have to rewire the front wall using 12 gauge wire instead of 14 gauge. Part of the wiring is going to have to be just below the surface (I'm going to have to groove the header and then plaster over it) and I just don't feel comfortable using the lighter wire, even though it is much easier to work with. Additionally, I'd cut one of the wires a little shorter than it should be...
I did get the hole drilled and the outside box mounted for the switched light, though, so all I have to do now is run the wire to it. I decided to use a receptacle so I can plug in the light(s), making it much easier to change it and run xmas lights.
It looks to be another beautiful day, but pretty windy... I might get some more leaf work done this afternoon. I had thought that I might be sore from the physical work
Incidentally, I was checking the server logs last night, and there were many hits on the days surrounding the date that I was accused of breaking into the system... interesting.
Back to work for a while now... more later.
20:43...
Then I called Mom, and got to talk to her a while, and Aunt Bea was there too, so I got to talk with her, too... a nice bonus! Unfortunately, Aunt Bea was there for a sad reason... there had been a death in the family, an Aunt Irene... Well, she was mom and Bea's aunt, I think, but I'm not really sure... yeah, she was. I didn't know her very well at all, obviously.
I tried to call JD and Tyler a coupla times, first time I got an answering machine, the second time I got a busy signal. So I told Karen that I'd make supper, and sent her off to the store while I started making ghoulash. Is that the way to spell it? Well, hell, it's still pretty close to hallowe'en...
While Karen was gone, I got a call from her sister Debbie... Karen had told her about my job situation, and she was worried about me. I assured her that I was OK, and that I would be OK under any circumstance... Betty (Karen and Deb's mom) has had a couple of really good days with a new medication change. I hope that it will work over the long term... that is such a sad situation. Anyway, it was really nice of Deb to call.
Karen got back and I finished up my part of the cooking while she made salsa for a work party tomorrow... she makes excellent salza... then she takes it to work, dammit.
But hey, I make some pretty good ghoulash, too.
After supper, I was thinking about calling JD again when the phone rang... and it was JD. We talked for quite a while, then I got to talk to Tyler... he's about ready to come home. He was kinda waiting for me to come down there, but now JD will be up here in about a month, so I'll go to Texas sometime in the spring, I guess.
It was awfully nice talking to those kids... I love them and miss them both...
Anyway... back to work tomorrow night. Which means that I should stay up most of the night tonight, but I don't really think that I can, not having slept much last night. O'well, I'll make it, one way or another...
Speaking of work, I haven't heard anything at all, so I guess I have to assume that everything is OK, and that nothing will become of this fiasco. Either that, or they'll escort me off the property when I get there tomorrow night. Whatever...
More tomorrow...
yesterday, but I'm not, so I can do it again... working on the second pot of coffee right now, and full of energy...
I got more done than I thought I would... the front wall is wired, insulated and plasticked ... yeah, I think I made that word up. And the mess got all cleaned up afterwards, too.
