Natterings, Notions
and
Notes

Today was quite a bit more than I had bargained for.

I got up early enough to get to work at 07:15, but I decided to fritter away some time, so I didn't get there until 08:00.

However, when I did get there, the place was in a state of mass confusion... one tech (my supervisor) and several students were struggling with a very busy emergency department. They were losing, quite badly.

Well, I'd planned on sitting behind a console in the CT department, learning a new computer... I wore slacks and cowboy boots. I put my lab coat on when I came in, so I'd look like I belonged...

Cowboy boots are comfortable, but not made for the kind of running that I had to do today. Sore legs, and the boot rub on the inside of my calves... I haven't been wearing boots enough lately... mostly sandals and tennies... your skin toughens up when you wear boots a lot. My skin is... was... very tender. What's left of my skin on the insides of my calves is very sore.

One benifit of the day, though... I got to work with a lot of beautiful new young women... the students. I really had a lot of fun with them. I have a tendency to impress student techs... what I do I do well, hell, I've had lotsa practice... and they like to garner my wisdom and expertise.

Let me make this clear, here... I'm talking about expertise in radiography, not anything else. Get your minds out of the gutter, there... yeah, I heard that...

So, I finally left about 14:00, having had quite enough... and the evening techs were coming on, so I didn't have to feel guilty about leaving. When I got home, I didn't know whether to wait for Karen of just go to bed... I decided to wait.

We went out to Chili's and split a cheeseburger and had a nice time talking, until a tribe of young girls moved into the same room... there must've been thirty of them. Luckily, we were almost done eating by the time they were seated... in fact, the latecomers comandeered our table as soon as we left.

We went out to Lowes afterwards, looking for some lights to go over the new windows... didn't find anything, though.

This machine is acting funny... very slow since I installed napster. I need to do some tweaking, I think...

Thanx for being here!
