A beautiful day here in Topeka... so I heard.
We had a nice time last night, had a good meal with friends that we hadn't seen for over two years. Amazing how time gets away from you... or from me, anyway.
I was wanting to stay up late last night, so I could do the turn-around, but I couldn't make it past midnight. Then I slept until 08:00 this morning.
Fiddled around for a coupla hours, then went back to bed and managed to sleep another six hours... so I should be in good shape for tonight. It seems like more than a week since I last worked... actually, the last week has been pretty foggy. Hardly anything accomplished, except lots of goofing off.
I finally got a good CD-to-MP3 recording program, so I'm getting my CDs translated and on disk. Tyler says that he can put my vinyl on disk, too... I've got a lot that I haven't been able to duplicate.
I talked to the guy from Whelans that was out here Saturday to give us an estimate on the siding. He impressed me as an idiot. Someone else is coming over tomorrow morning to give us an estimate on it, someone from a siding company... the first guy was from a lumber-yard, and should have known what he was talking about, but he didn't.
I just got off of the phone with JD, he seems to be doing well. He's been clean and sober since 10 MAY 1999, and I'm damned proud of him.
And speaking of stuff like that... I've been having really bad whisky cravings lately. That shit never goes away, does it? Once I can look at it objectively, it's pretty easy to resist, though... it just kinda takes me by surprise every time.
And it always scares me, dammit. Because it would be so easy...
