Natterings, Notions
and
Notes

I was unable to get to sleep yesterday, and about 16:30 I heard someone knocking at the door. When I answered it, it was a cop and a city official, with a complain from "a neighbor" about the siding. The city official was a code compliance guy, and he told me that there was really nothing wrong at all, and that he thought it would look really nice when it was done, but that it was not objectionable with just the sheathing on it right now.

Well, yes, I've been dragging my feet on many projects around here. I guess that's one that I've got to get on... especially after Karen and I had a discussion after she got home.

She had had a horrible day, and I was totally exhausted, so the stage was pretty well set for a major argument.

We've never had a major argument.

And we still haven't. There were harsh words spoken on both sides, but we both knew the circumstances well, and we vented without either of us getting really upset.

Then I went to bed, about 24 hours since I'd last slept... and I slept from 19:00 until about 01:00, then got up for about an hour, then I went back to sleep until about 06:00 and woke up feeling pretty rested.

I made the first pot of coffee for the day and saw Karen off to work and started downloading a program which will solve all of my problems with the new disk. It's about half-way done now, another two hours and it'll be completed.

So I cleaned up the kitchen while I was waiting, and started writing this entry. Shortly, I will wake Tyler up, and we will start working outside... my major project is going to be installing the new windows in the front room. I need to get that done before winter gets here, and it's closing in really fast...

I'm not going to rip the whole wall out, though, as I'd originally planned, just replace the windows, which is a pretty major job by itself. I'll also do a bit of rewiring while I'm at it.

And Karen and I decided to call someone and get them to do the siding... although I hate to do that, I've been putting it off bacause I'm afraid that I won't be able to do a very good job.

Thanx for being here!
