Natterings, Notions
and
Notes

Long night. Steady work flow, with some rest time in between patients. Not a bad night at all. Not as good as Sunday night, though... my legs and feet are killing me again, just from all of the walking.

I don't really like the twelve-hour nights... not because they're twelve hours, but because I have to spend four of them working with other people. I don't work well with other people. Either they're too stupid to learn how I do things (the right way, naturally...) or they're too slow and get in my way.

But there's no way of avoiding it, normally. But I will, starting tomorrow... when I come in at 23:00 and leave at 07:00. Nobody but me. This will only last for a week, then I'll go back to the tens and twelves.

So far, I'm maintaining a pretty good attitude about this stretch... only fifteen more nights to go! These eight-hour nights will seem like a vacation, though... and they're all overtime. Time-and-a-half makes me feel like I'm finally getting paid half of what I'm worth...

One of the Kansas legislators is going to introduce a bill in the house next session that will require all Kansas schools under the board of regents (all of the colleges) to have as a science requirement... knowledge of evolution, in the fullest sense.

Well, intelligent people have known for years that you can't legislate morality... is it possible to legislate intelligence? I'm not really sure if it's politically correct in Kansas to frown at ignorance. No, I'm sure that it isn't... I've been talked to about that... gee, stupid people are people too... they get to vote and everything... drive cars, hold down jobs... supervise, preach, legislate... and besides that, they outnumber us ten to one.

Bedtime. More tomorrow...

Thanx for being here!
