Sometimes, when a day starts out bad, you just know that it's gonna get worse.
And then yup... it gets worse.
The chopper was leaving just as I was getting to work last night, and that is usually a bad sign.
And I hadn't gotten awake until 20:30, when I had to be at work at 21:00. The damned alarm clock had been going off for 90 minutes without waking me up.
Upon arrival, I found that we had three critical patients... a head-on MVA with multiple fractures and other injuries, a self-inflicted gunshot to the head and a critical cardiac patient... the latter was a non-factor, however. Not as serious as expected.
And the head shot was also a non-factor, for the obvious reasons.
But the other guy... lotsa problems. Lotsa exams, and he was not very cooperative. Completely understandable, but still... very much of a problem to get decent films.
And the non-critical patients kept coming in the door, too. I should've called someone in, but I didn't, dammit.
Anyway, the night was gotten through. Now I have to get through Saturday night...
Thursday night Tyler was in the wrong place at the wrong time as he was delivering pizzas. He was stopped by a buncha policemen at the scene of a massive vandalism attack. They detained him for an hour or so then let him go, since they had more likely suspects in hand. I think that he was pretty lucky... a long-haired kid with out-of-state plates at 02:30 in the morning... a cop's dream bust. He evidently behaved himself very well.
Enough for today... off to bed I am.
