Long long day... of course, I got up way too early... 03:30 it was. Brian was here, sleeping on the couch, so I couldn't make much noise... not that I would've anyway...

The reason for my early rising was my early bedtime. 21:00, it was... I stayed up a whole two hours after I got up from my nap. My nap was four (4) hours. I think that I'd had enough sleep.

More frustrations with the computer... this time the 300. I've got it hooked up to the 17-inch Compaq monitor, and it won't get but 640X480 in sixteen (shudder) colors. Everything looks like crap, grafix-wise. I've tried every cure that I know to fix it, all to no avail. The system is capable of 1280X1056 or something like that, and so is the monitor... O'well, I can live with it for two more days, I guess...

I really want a new 19-inch monitor and a good AGP card. The MB of the new machine has a AGP adaptor, I'd like to use it. I guess that can wait a few months.

I did get a little sheet-rock work done today, though... very little, before I ran into a snag having to do with the congruity of the hanging cabinets to the wall that I will be extending. I need to bend the cabinets about two inches. I hate warped walls... which means that I hate almost every wall that I've even met... or at least worked on. I'm sure that there are some straight ones out there somewhere...

After Karen took Brian over to spend the rest of the weekend with his daddy Matt, Karen and I went out to Sam's to stock up on stuff. I am wont to buy large bags of M-and-Ms and suchlike when I go out there, but I was a good boy today, I just bought healthy stuff. Karen had picked up a coupla movies while she was out, and we drug a salmon out of the freezer for supper and baked it while we watched the first movie. John Travolta in a really unimpressive movie where he's a lawyer...Civil Case, I believe it was. The salmon was excellent (and healthy) and Karen made some spiced rice to put it on.

We took a short walk after we cleaned up from supper... it has cooled off a bunch here. We even had some rain this morning, just a little bit. It's still pretty humid, we were glad to get back into the AC after our walk.

I prepared all of the stuff for the August archives when we got home so I'm all ready for the new month. Some journallers do monthly redesigns to some extent, but I'm too damned lazy for that. Not to mention the fact that my design is already perfect... for me, anyway. Low-maintenance, like my haircut.

My Best Friend's Wedding is the other movie that Karen got, and she's starting to watch it right now, but I'm not sure if I'm up for another movie tonight. It's been a really long time since I got out of bed...

More tomorrow...

Thanx for being here!
