What a bitch of a night!
It started off slow and steady, and the tempo kept increasing until I was two hours behind at 06:00.
We had a 17-year-old kid walk in with a bullet in his head, victim of a carjacking attempt. Initially, the wound looked superficial, but the CT proved otherwise. He went downhill, as the doctor put in, "faster than Kennedy's plane". I lost track of what happend with him, aside from the fact that I saw a lot of surgery people that got called in.
It was a night for some serious sicknesses... besides the GSW, I did a CT on a guy with a thoracic aorta aneurysm, and it seemed that every other x-ray that I took was positive.
So, it was a big welcome back, Doug! and I'm really dragging ass this morning. Back hurts, legs hurt... boy, I'll bet that I can get some sleep today!
In fact, I'm gonna start really quick now.
More tomorrow...
