Well, at least I'm consistent... up at 04:00 again today, and completely pooped by noon.
I did get a lot of computer stuff done today, though. I essentially stripped the Compaq and got the 300MH machine set up as my main machine. Yeah, there were, and still are, lotsa problems. But... I got my email all back, kinda.
I removed the new hard drive from the Compaq and installed it in the 300, and left the old HDs in the Compaq and everything came back up mostly the way that it should have... including Outlook and my email files.
I forwarded the critical files to my ISP's mail server, and left them on it while I sorted everything out, then I downloaded them into the new system.
I've still got a lot to do, including loading most of the programs on the new machine, but nothing that should present any problems. Except that I can't seem to get the TV board to work yet. So no pictures until then... what a disappointment for everyone.
I'm also evaluating a virus scanner, so far it's only found some phantom virii in some backup files that it said it couldn't delete... but I couldn't find them where it said they were, so I dunno.
It took me a while to get the network up and running, though, and even longer to get the modem and modem sharing working. These damned computers are sometimes a real pain in the ass. Like everyone doesn't already know that.
As I mentioned earlier, I got up way too early... I tried taking a nap earlier, but no go again... it was still light out. So Karen made some coffee and she had a cup and I drank the rest of the pot. Really smart, Doug. Although somehow I have the feeling that I could be wrong, for a change.
My feelings often mislead me. I'm probably right, so I'd be wrong. That's correct, I can't win, even when I'm making up the rules...

And I thought that I had this internet connection sharing thing done, but I don't, else I could post it from the other machine.
Tyler news... I saw him for a brief while this afternoon... Marta (his mother) brought him back from Lawrence so that he could get a change of clothes and take a nap. He worked Saturday and Sunday nights and made some money finally, but he told me that he'd been awake for like 36 hours...
Well damn, I got kicked off of the site I was DLing from... timed me out, damned slow web anyway. So this will go up and I'll go down...

Right now, I'm doing a long download, and it'll take about three hours. So instead of posting this now, I'm gonna go to bed and post it when I wake up. It's not like there will be a bunch of people needing to read it between now and 07:00, heh...
