So, last night I wanted to stay awake, and I couldn't. Ain't that the way it always is? For me, at least...

I got up fairly early this morning, drank a pot of coffee and tried to solve the problem with the compaq not seeing the CDROM drives. Disconnected them, booted it, did a hardware search, took it down, plugged them in again... nothing.

So I took the CDWriter clear out to install in the other machine. Should be no problem... but the damned cables that I have... and I've got about a dozen... were not configured correctly. The motherboard in that machine has the HD connectors just about as far from the drive bays as it is possible to get.

Took a trip out to best buy... they had lots of cables just like I already have. Back home, I disassembled a cable, learned how the connectors work... but I haven't put one together yet. There's a good reason for that.

I need to get some more sleep before I go in to work, and now is the only time that is going to happen, so I must take advantage of it...

There is a day job open in CT at the hospital. Much as I will hate to leave the night shift, I think that I'll apply for it... just so that Karen and I can maybe have a "normal" life for a while. And I think that this night shift is killing me, slowly, but killing me all the same.

So... on to sleep, to awaken and work...
