Steady stream of patients last night, but nothing big or exciting. One that was kinda fun, though.
This lady was 35 or so, tattooed, pierced, bejeweled (rings on every finger and most toes...) and had a really irritating voice. Nice enough, in spite of that.
I did the needed x-ray and handed the interpretation slip to the PA, who raised her eyebrows, indicating that she wanted some comment from me...
So I said, "People are just as strange as they want to be... and that is one ambitious lady!"
I really like the last night of a rotation... even though it really seems to drag, there is just something about anticipating a week off, away from it all, no doctors, no patients, no hassle... except from Karen, of course...
I got off at 07:00 and briefly contemplated going to a meeting and decided that I was way too tired to get anything from it, even though both the subject and the speaker were interesting. I didn't get much sleep again yesterday, just laying in bed for about three hours, watching the clock, finally going to sleep around 14:30 and getting up at 17:30.
So I came home and got the network going, and got the internet share connection going, and everything is pretty hunky-dory now, I think.
Karen has been off the last few days, since last Thursday, and she's had Brian over from Lawrence and she's been enjoying her time with him.
Lacee came over this morning to have Karen fix her hair before she went to the babysitter's, they were having a field day and she wanted to look nice, but Steve kept her overnight and he knows as much about hair-fixing as I do.
Karen got her all ready to go, and she looked like a little doll, with a red polka-dot dress and a fourth-of-July hair ribbon.
I might not have mentioned this for a while... she's pretty damned cute, and so is her grandma.
Anyway, I got to sleep around noon, and Karen woke me up about 18:00 tonight. I think that I'll go back to bed about 22:00, and be set to spend a week among the daytime people. Well, maybe not a week, but several days anyway.
Karen has been wanting to re-arrange the bedroom, so I'll probably get started on that tomorrow, draining the waterbed and moving it and re-filling it is an all-day job. Then, with the outside walls exposed, I will be able soon to rip the sheetrock out and insulate them and re-rock them and repaint the whole thing. This wall insulation project will take about two years, I think. And I'm tired of it already.
I'm actually tired of about everything that has to do with this house right now. No matter how much I get done, there's more more more screaming to get done. So far, I've managed to not scream back at it...
And here it is, at the end of the month. July... another directory to populate with empty entry shells, waiting for the days to happen so that I can fill them with meaningless drivel.
Life goes on.... and on... and on... until it doesn't anymore.
