Monday morning. Up before dawn, but I do believe that I will return to my bed soon.
I was in bed by 23:00 last night, but I couldn't sleep and got up. Went back to bed at 03:00, up again at 05:00 or so, as it was beginning to get light.
I think that'll qualify as "not enough sleep" in anyone's book.
I have two disposable cigarette lighters now; one has run out of fluid, and the flint sparker is broken on the other one. I depress the gas valve on the green one (broken flint) and use the sparker from the red one (no fluid) to light the stream of gas from the green one, then I light my cigarette.
Those of you who are paying attention will realize that I haven't quit smoking. Well, I did for about five hours, when Ty and I were fishing the other day...
So, why don't I just buy a new lighter? Why, that would be giving in, kinda... maybe, when the lighter is gone, I will quit smoking.
Right...
Good news/bad news department...
Useless fact department... (Didn't know I had so many departments, did ya?) the byte count of my atheist journal sign-up page is 6666...
Dumb ad dept: For sale - 25-inch color TV. Works very well, frequently. Phone xxx-xxxx
Yeah, I'm right on that one...
22:53...
Then, I hope I can sleep tomorrow.
The beard. It is returning, slowly but surely. Comes from not shaving. And, for the first time ever, it's kinda uncomfortable growing it back. Maybe because I've had it off for so long this time.
Anyway, it'll be back full in another week, and I'll have forgotten about the uncomfortable part.
I really don't want to go to work tomorrow. It's too soon. But a month from now would be too soon, too, I guess.
Some of the people that I know, people my age, are retiring. They've been smarter than me, saved their money, all of that. Yeah, I'm jealous. None of them work for non-profit companies.
More tomorrow...
I called my supervisor to make sure she'd given me PDO's for my sick day last week (she hadn't) and she asked me to work tomorrow (Tuesday) night. Well, no, I don't really want to... but eight hours of OT pay I can use. Naturally, I said yes, being the helpful person that I am...
Well, this was a pretty crummy day, altogether. Most of it was spend (wasted) trying to sleep. Finally, after Karen got home, I did sleep for about three hours, now I'm up again, and hope to be up for the duration of the night.
Quite a while ago, I got a CD-writer, an HP 8100. It works great for data disks, but not at all for audio ones. This is pretty frustrating, we've made lots of coasters... y'know, those buck-fifty ones?... and never made one that plays. Any help out there? Different programs? Anything?
