Yesterday... was a bad day all around.

First... Liquidweb, my WWW server, went down before noon, and it wasn't up until this afternoon. This just after I'd uploaded the Keirsey pages that I'd been slaving over... and told everyone who was interested where they were. This morning, I uploaded them to my ISP on a temporary basis so that they'd be available.

Liquidweb had lost their main disk, and it took them over 24 hours to replace it. That worries me a bunch.

The other bad thing bothers me a bunch, too.

The ten commandments.

And our stupid fucking legislators.

The ten commandments don't really bother me. They are there for those that believe that way, and I'm not one of those. It shouldn't affect me. Part of the constitution, y'know.

The first five commandments establish, for the xian, the basic hierarchy and the rules:
God says: You must be my slave in every aspect of your life. Don't piss me off.

The rest apply to the xians relations with other xians. Not the world in general... just other people who go to their church.

This is not obvious to the layman... one has to be familiar with the bible, specifically with the old testament. There is no tolerance for other faiths there, or for one with no faith. They can be killed, lied to, cheated... the xian can take their wives, their asses, their children, their property... and those who believe in the bible will cheer them on.

But... that's not the point. The point is... this is supposed to solve the problems of violence. Yes, making schools post the ten commandments is going to solve the problems of the United States of America... all in one fell swoop.

Them guys looked the camera right in the eye and said, "What America needs is the ten commandments! If the ten commandments were posted in Colombine High School, this wouldn't have happened!"

So... if all of our schoolkids read the ten commandments, school violence would be stopped, heh.

Unless they believed them... then there would be violence wrought on the kids that didn't believe them. But that wouldn't get in the papers, making national headlines.

About 2/3rds of them voted for the bill.

What a load of bullshit.

On the other hand, this is the same bunch of dipshits that voted to impeach clinton, essentially because of moral turpitude... and then had a couple of their leaders resign because of... you got it... moral turpitude. And there were many others shaking in their boots.

Most likely, the senators will override this bill, which is an amendment to another stupid bill that's supposed to solve the problems, too.

If not, the supreme court will rule it unconstitutional.

If they don't... I'll need to find another place to live. A theocracy in the United States is very scary indeed, and I would not survive the first day.

OK, enough of this. I could, you know, go on all night.

Tyler and I finally went fishing today. Cloudy day, we thought that we could do some topwater buzzbaits, but it was pretty windy, so that didn't work... we caught plenty of fish, anyway, using mostly plastic worms, although we did get a couple on spinners.

It started sprinkling about 15:45, so we called it a day. The sprinkling has gradually increased to a light drizzle, but hasn't yet graduated to the light rain stage even. We did set record low temperatures the last two night, though. Fifty degrees F, it was. Whoop-dee-doo!

I think that I'll append this entry onto the bottom of the last one, since it hasn't been up very long. Making it easy for you to read my precious words.

Gee, I hope that Mom doesn't get too mad at me...

Thanx for being here!
