Weird night in the ED...
No drunks. True.
No car wrecks...
No motorcycle wrecks...
No shootings, cuttings, hitting on heads with ball-bats or 2X4s...
No crazies...
I checked the date three times. Yes, it was a friday night.
And I got a well-deserved break in the action. But I'm not fooling myself thinking that it's gonna last, because tonight is Saturday night.
I was well-rested for last night, too. First really good sleep that I've had in a while, and I still feel pretty damned good. I slept with the C-PAP machine on all day yesterday, I'm hoping that's the difference. Because I'm gonna do that all day today, too.
I was awakened last night by a really good thunderstorm about 18:45, but I didn't get up until about 19:30, when it was all over... I just lay there listening to the thunder, still mostly asleep. Karen said that it blew pretty good before it started raining, then it rained pretty heavily. Not like it did in Enid the other day, though... Mom said that they got 4.5 inches.
Karen is going to Wichita today and tomorrow... Patrick is going to spend a week at Debbie's with his cousin Jeff. Karen has been putting off seeing her mother, who has Alzheimer's, and she'll get to spend some time with her finally. I wish that I was going with them.
But no, I gotta stay here and work, dammit. Four more nights.
And I think I'll end with that sour note...
