Hmmm... yesterday.

It took a lot longer to get the C-PAP machine than I thought it would, about 45 minutes. The respiratory tech had to explain each and every little part to me... kind of interesting, but most of the info that she gave me was self-evident. Cute little girl, though. So I listened patiently to her.

Karen was home by the time I got back, so I took a shower while she watched The Young and the Restless, then we headed out for Bob and Ginny's place. They live in Ozawkie, a little town by lake Perry.

Ginny had given me directions on the answering machine and I thought that I knew where I was going, kinda. But... I accidentally took K-3 south instead of K-4 north, so we had a little side trip there... across the Kansas river and back.

Then I missed the turn to their driveway, so we overshot their house by several miles before I realized my mistake. We finally got there and took a short tour of their house, which was fantastic, and then left for supper.

We went to a resturant on the lake owned and operated by a local celebrity, Lou Constantino. He was a disk jockey for years at several radio stations, and he did the rent-a-DJ thing for quite a while, too.

The food was only OK, but I didn't mind because the service was very slow. The atmosphere and the company was excellent, though... we hadn't seen Bob and Gin since my 50th birthday, which was a few years ago.

We took a short tour around the lake, but it was getting dark, so we went back to their house and sat out on the back deck and watched the stars until about 22:30, and my body told me that it was time for bed.

We left, planning to get together again sometime soon. Karen and I have some really neat friends, but we seldom socialize... we need to do so more often. So frequently, I'm spending the evening right here in front of the computer and she in front of the TV, when we could be out having fun. Not that computering and TV watching aren't fun...

We got home without getting lost, and I put together the C-PAP and moved a table by the bed to set it on. I wasn't feeling like sleeping yet, but Karen did, so she went to bed while I read my email and dithered about whether or not I should write some more. I decided not to and got ready for bed myself.

I got the C-PAP on and lay down and almost immediately started coughing.

My bronchitis is not gone yet, dammit.

And the sinusitis is making a comeback, too, dammit again.

So I spent most of the night trying to sleep but being unable to because of the cough. I turned the C-PAP off after about an hour. Coughing with that thing on was like fighting a swarm of bees.

I think that I maybe got a coupla hours sleep out of the night, if that. Finally got up about 08:00 and made coffee.

One of my emails last night was from Tyler... he was coming back to Topeka today. I picked him up at the airport in KC about 16:00.

He's happy to be home.

I'm happy to have him home.

So... shortly, I'm going to fortify myself with OTC meds and try to go to sleep. More tomorrow...

Thanx for being here!
