I have my brain back, and it's almost as good as new.

I got some sleep last night, after a long soak in mom's tub... the only time I ever take a bath (as opposed to a shower... I do maintain a modicum of personal hygiene...) is when I visit mom.

So, when I woke up this morning, I was newly resolved to solve the modem(s) problem.

And I utterly failed.

About 09:30, mom and I went to their very-newly-opened STAPLES store and we got a Zoom modem. Then we went out to LOWES and got a grounding rod and clamp.

Then we went on an adventure. Looking for a used dot matrix printer... mom doesn't like her ink-jet one. Even though I got it working.

We found the place, it had junk and computer parts all over, and several guys hanging around playing with several computers that were running, but the guy that ran the place wasn't there. I asked about the price on a Panasonic KXP-11 and I was told, "I think that he wants 25 dollars for the printers..." then the kid went back to downloading his bomb plans.

We left there and decided to get lo... be adventurous. We took the long way home. Went by the land fill and everything. Got home and I had the modem installed and was on-line in about fifteen minutes. Amazing what having the right drivers will do for you...

I left about 14:30 or 15:00, and drove pretty much straight through, getting home to Topeka about 18:30. It was a beautiful day for a drive, and for almost everything else.

However, it was a day that made me pretty tired. I've got an entry written for yesterday, but I'm not going to put it up until I work some more on it, it's very incomplete. I also wrote some more stuff while I was down there that I need to do some heavy editing on before I display it.

So, yesterday will be up tomorrow, probably. And so will tomorrow, I hope...

Thanx for being here!
