Well, gee! I got a good night's sleep, I think. And I even got up kinda when I wanted to, too. Still on the first pot of half-decaff, half-real coffee. Can't go decaffe cold turkey... I can't afford a headache right now.

Hopefully, that's it.

I'm taking along a 33.6 modem too, just in case I can't get the winmodem to work on that machine.

I'm also going to ground the 110VAC receptacle that mom's got the computer on... the whole house is wired with two wires, no ground, so I'll have to run a separate ground through the wall.

Also, I've gotten involved in the diary-l awards, and the deadline is today for the selection of the finalists for the voting. So I've got to get on the ball about that, too. In fact, I'd probably better stop this and get to that right now, before I sluff it off. I'm on a panel of seven, and so far, nobody else has turned in their selections yet, that I know of...

15:42...
Got that done, then Tyler got up and we got JD up and went out to eat breakfast. Then we came back and started working...

JD and Tyler got up on the roof, JD doing the tarring and Tyler cleaned out the gutters and swept all of the helicopters (we have maple trees) off of the roof. All three of the downspouts were clogged up, which probably has a lot to do with the water in the basement.

Next, we took everything out of the kitchen that would move, then JD got started with the touch-up painting, Tyler started drilling holes under the eaves, and I started working on the leg for the bar. O'yeah, we cut to bar down too...

Right now I'm waiting for the paint on the leg to dry, so I can put another coat on it, then I'll paint the pieces that'll hold the leg in place. After that's all dry, I'll put it all together and work on fastening down the cabinets.

I think that we'll be ready to head on out to Oklahoma first thing in the morning. The boys were talking about volunteering for the clean-up in OKCity, but I kinda talked them out of it... they probably don't want any independent people going down there, they've got organized groups doing most of the work, and the boys only really have a day to volunteer, anyway. I thought that it was good that they were thinking about it, though...

Anyway, back to work right now...

22:36...
All done. Well, mostly, anyway. Tyler is finishing up the last of the floor, and JD is packing, and I'm bushed. That's why the dad gets to sit down and write a little bit.

We did get an awfully lot done today, even if we got a late start... and then Karen suggested that we go to Laribee's steak house for supper, and we did. Again, an excellent steak. Tyler had a trout, I don't know what JD had, but it was a steak of some sort, and Karen had the kebob again. Karen said that hers wasn't as good as last time, but mine was excellent... I had the bourbon steak, and they do it much better that Applebee's, the only other place that I've had one.

Tomorrow's entry will come from Enid, Oklahoma, assuming that I can get mom's modem working. O'right, I'm gonna take the laptop, so I should be able to get one up...

More tomorrow, from tornado-land...

Thanx for being here!
