I stayed up until about 09:00 this morning, tired after the projects were accomplished but still unable to sleep... last time I looked at the clock it was after 10:00.

JD and I had talked about digging a french drain last night before he went to bed, and he got started on that today... but it was way too muddy to get too much done. The plan was for Tyler to get up and help him, but that didn't happen.

I'd mentioned in an entry last week when I'd gone to the ER for my hives that several girls that I knew were very hesitant in acknowledging me, and I got an email from a reader asking me why this might be.

JD and I were talking about this tonight... essentially I have no clue as to how the female mind works... and this thought occurred to me: Women are wonderful, and it's not really necessary to understand them. Then I thought, "Nah... that sounds WAY too much like religion..."

Actually, I do not have that much of a clue as to how the male mind works, either. I do not consider males all that wonderful, generally, though, so I haven't spent that much time thinking about it.

But now that I am... and I can look at my own mind, which should give me a clue... human minds in general are beyond my comprehension. But I have to live with, and work with, humans on a daily basis. Understanding would be very good.

Something to work on. Just what I need, something else to work on that is really hard to comprehend. Dammit, I already have Linux!

The basics of human thought are relatively easy, just as the basics of Linux are. It's when you try to get the edge of the rest of humanity, to learn more, to know more, that the problems occur. And, not coincidentally, when you can reap the benefits.

I actually know guys that know the workings of the female mind. They generally prey on females... mostly because they can. Not prey as in abuse... but they seem to have many lovers, if that is the proper word.

And the people who really know how people's minds work in general... they make good managers, I guess. They prey on people in general, to get them to do better jobs, to work for less pay, and so on and so on....

Neither of these models of make me want to emulate them, come to think of it.

Y'know, I'm pretty happy the way I am, regarding the human mind, anyway.

Linux is a whole different thing, though. And if I ever learn it, I will definitely use it to prey upon the people who don't. Like get a sit-down job that pays me some big bucks, or something like that...

More tomorrow...

Thanx for being here!
