So, I'm getting a really early start on this entry, heh.
Well, actually, I just finished the last one...
I'm now in the process of downloading software updates from the Evil Giant Microsoft... I was really surprised that WIN98 didn't come with a mail client. I thought about trying something new, but I decided against it. I'm already learning (??) too many new things as it is...
One thing that I've heard is that WIN95 and 98 slow down with 128MB of ram on board. I do believe that's true. The new machine is slower than the Compaq, even though it's got a faster HD and more memory and a faster processor by half.
The Linux system will use the memory much more efficiently, though, once I get it going.
I was getting really frustrated with the network... but I finally juggled the cable and got it going. A bad cable... damn the luck. I probably would've had it working three days ago if I'd 'a' known that...
O'well, what the hell. Something else would've held me up then... always gotta be something.
17:12...
And much progress was made. Well, kinda. I learned a buncha new stuff, slowly, as I am wont to do. Very, very slowly, as the day wore on.
Today's picture has the sun coming in the gaps in the venitian blinds and... well, blinding me, what else? I mostly shun sun, being light-complected and generally nocturnal... but I love it on lazy spring days, floating around in a boat and catching bass... otherwise, it's fer the birds.
Just think... if you were worried because I didn't update yesterday, and you were on my reminder list, you would know what happened.
And if you weren't worried and you aren't on the list, then you probably don't care, anyway, and you are among the millions who don't read this. Aw, now I've made me feel bad...
Typo there, I corrected it of course... I'd typed "made me feel bed" ... they call that a freudian slip, I think. Anyhoo, that's where I'm heading, after I eat a bologna and cheese sandwich...
More tomorrow...
Gee, where has the day gone? I got up about 07:15, after going to sleep about 04:30... not well rested at all, but I had a coupla pots of coffee...
JD and Tyler got the ceiling and south wall over the cabinets painted, so I can hang the lights and the fan if I ever get enough energy to do that...
