Yesterday's plan didn't really work out too well. For one thing, I didn't get much work done... I spent a lot of time looking for a piece of paper. Specifically, the receipt for the coil cooking module for the Jenn-Aire that I bought at Sears recently... I put it in a safe place, then forgot where I put it.
After much vain searching, I went out to Sears to throw myself at their mercy. Well, duh, I didn't even need the damned receipt, I just needed to put my phone number in the machine and they brought the damned thing right out.
In the meantime, searching searching searching, I realized what a mess our "filing system" is in. A very big mess, indeed. I resolve to do something about it this week.
Thusly resolved, I went to bed. And slept, and slept. Karen woke me up at 18:30, saying that the grandkids were coming over, did I want to sleep a little longer? And I did. Lacee woke me up screaming at some point... I went back to sleep.
Karen woke me up coming to bed.
I went back to sleep.
I woke up at 02:00 to go to the bathroom.
I went back to sleep.
Finally... at 04:30, I got up. I had enough sleep, I guess. Fourteen hours or so.
Then Karen and I got into a little spat before she went to work. I think that I'll go have lunch with her, straighten things out a little bit.
Hopefully, anyway.
We kinda decided to move some cabinets around, we really don't like where they are, although at the time it seemed to be the only logical place to put them. Unfortunately, it means that I will have to do even more sheet-rock work... which means more time before the whole damned project will get done. O'well.
I just got back from the store, bought some steaks... Steve and Mary are coming over tonight, and I want to get some stuff done this afternoon, maybe get the place a little straightened out. It's a little motiviation, having people over...
Well, damn! I had decided to get a rose for Karen on the way down to meet her for lunch, and as I was getting ready to walk out the door, up comes a delivery man with a rose... from Karen! So she screwed up my plans...
We had a nice lunch, then I came home to do some more work on the sheet-rock. And I got very frustrated. The places that I thought that I was almost finished with... I wasn't.
I'm going to hire someone to come over and do it. It will be much less distressing emotionally.
Now that I've got my mind made up about that... I'm going to clean the place up. Well, the kitchen, anyway. Then back to the store for some things that Karen wants for tonight...
Luckily, she believed me when I told her that story when I got down there.
