I damned near didn't get up tonight. I kept looking at the clock and disbelieving it until Karen came in and got me out of bed. I went to bed pretty early, too, but I didn't sleep all that well, I guess. Weird dreams, but I can't remember what they were about.
Very slow night here at the hospital so far. I've done two patients in the last three hours... going to get some study time in tonight. I need to get my Evidence of Continuing Education taken care of. This time I can do it at their website instead of having to fax them the documents, which is really nice. The ASRT (American Society of Radiologic Technology), of which I'm a member, has directed readings in their bi-monthly publication, so all I
I also get credits for other things, such as CPR re-certification and other meetings that I attend having to do with medicine.
The ECEs are due biannually, and I always put everything off until the last minute... but since they've gone online, I'm going to try to do them when I get the articles in the mail.
04:19...
And it appears that we will wind up where we were a year ago... a popular president whose libido ate his lunch and a bunch of republicans who're still sore about losing the election. In the meantime, there has been a lot of money wasted and hot air blown up our asses.
There needs to be a way to run a country... a state, a business, a family... without politics. I know, it'll never happen... but it should.
So, we'll have another few days of this circus, then maybe back to business. But we really need to remember who did what when we vote next time. I'm going to, anyway. Actually, I'll just vote against the same people that I voted against last time. It's much easier to vote against someone than for someone else... voting for someone implies that you approve of them.
The night ended up with a spiral CT for a ureteral stone, a long exam and relatively difficult one. The reason for the difficulty is either that the patient is too drugged bacause of the pain to respond adequately or there isn't enough pain medication in the world to get 'em to settle down enough to do the exam. Occasionally I'll get one that's right in the middle... but not frequently. People with ureteral stones hurt a lot. I know this from dealing with many patients and also, unfortunately, from personal experience.
And, once again, even though I wasn't busy last night, I'm feeling worn out, so I'll close this and get to bed....
have to do is read the article, get online and answer the questions about the article and I get credit for it, assuming that 75% of my answers are correct.
Still not very busy... a few patients now and then, nothing big or interesting. So I've been watching CNN's coverage of the Prez's trial in the senate.
