Pretty crummy day, weather-wise. We have been royally spoiled, and it's come to an end...

I got up at about 04:30 to pee, and it was starting to snow and Tyler was just getting home. When I finally got up at 09:30, he was still up, and there was just a dusting of snow.

Karen and Kim and Lacee went out to finish up their xmas shopping, and they just got home. It is now snowing in earnest, and they report that the roads are getting slick and, naturally, the roads are full of crazy people. Last-minute shoppers...

We had a small crisis this morning... the main sewer line jammed up. Tyler and I worked on it for about twenty minutes before we got it cleared, the stoppage was about 35 feet out and the tape that I have is 50 feet.

The sewer line has never been replaced, it's more than 40 years old. It is made of the oil-soaked cardboard, green-something... no, orangeberg, they called it. Anyway, it was a bad idea, under the best of conditions, and we've got several large trees close to the line. I think that we're the only people in the neighborhood with the original plumbing still... it'll cost about $2000 when it goes, so I've really been dreading it. Plus I'll have to tear up about half of the back deck to get it replaced.

While Karen was gone I got quite a bit of washing done, plus I washed the dished and cleaned up the kitchen a little bit. We've still got a lot of stuff in the old kitchen that needs to be moved out and a lot that needs to be thrown away.

The problem with moving the stuff is... we've got a lot of room, but where do we put things in our new cabinets? And what, really, do we need to have in there? We'll work this stuff out eventually...

I've got to make a coat/storage closet out of our old pantry, too. That won't be much of a problem... once I get the junk cleared out of it. So, where is that stuff going to go? Why, in the old kitchen... after it gets cleaned out.

It's one damned thing after another.

I was talking to Tyler today, and I realized that it's been a long time since I did anything that was fun. I need to do something fun.

What's fun? I seem to have forgotten. I think that it's something that you do which accomplishes nothing... and plenty that I've done lately qualifies that way...

But that stuff isn't fun...

O'well.

They just announced on CNN that some woman somewhere (the doctors were speaking english...) had eight (8) babies. That is ridiculous. Nobody should have more than two kids, and I mean nobody. There should be a law. Isn't there a law? Dammit, there should be. There are too fucking many people in this world already, anyone just has to look around to know that. Stupid, stupid, stupid.

And while I'm on the subject... why does everyone get so upset when a kid dies? Dammit, they're people, just like everyone else. What makes it more of a tragedy that a six-year old dies than a sixty-year old? That the six-year-old hasn't lived? And the old one isn't much of a loss, 'cause the old one has lived? That the young one is innocent? Maybe the old one was, too. And the young one wouldn't be innocent for all that long, had it lived...

Kinda like asking why everyone likes kittens and puppies but quite a few people don't like cats or dogs... in other words, a pretty stupid question. OK, I withdraw it...

Enough for one day.

Thanx for being here!
