Journal Entry

Wednesday, 04 November, 1998 08:37

It was a nice night, for more reasons than that it was my last one for seven days. I had the opportunity to get some gossiping and nurse-flirting in and I didn't have to work very hard. I had a few fun patients, too, and that makes the night more pleasant, too.

I got up too early again, though, dammit, and I'm tired now. I had hoped to come home and get started working on the kitchen, but weariness saps my resolution in that direction... The idea of sleeping several hours has a winning appeal, so that's probably what will happen...981104 And the daily pix will be back on popular demand. Yes, someone wrote and told me to do it, and don't dare try to tell her what to do! You can go visit her at (parenthesis); and she said that she missed the original entry but read the prompt... so it wasn't really a prompt and it counted.

I guess she told me, huh!

I was fairly happy with the election results nationally, but not locally. But then, Kansas is strongly republican, so what should I expect, after all?

The fact that the republicans didn't make any gains should kinda point out to them that nobody really cares about Clinton's illicit affairs... but I doubt that they'll understand that, it's probably a little too subtle for them. It'll be interesting to see where this impeachment deal goes from here.

Still raining here in Topeka. Tomorrow is supposed to be dry, and we can get up on the roof and fix the skylight. Not something I'm looking forward to... getting on the roof, I mean. I'm looking forward to the skylight not leaking!

On a different, and much more sour, note, Karen's mom is not doing very well. I mentioned that she had to be evacuated last Sunday because of the floods in Wichita... this has increased her disorientation greatly. Karen will probably go down there this weekend; originally, the plan was that Debbie (Karen's sister) was going to come up here from Wichita and help us with her vast knowledge of interior decorating, but with Betty's deterioration this is very unlikely.

Alzheimers is such a shitty disease.

I'm really looking forward to this next week and getting a lot of stuff done. Realistically, though, I probably won't get done this week, since we can't get the cabinets until the weekend after next. And there are things that I can't do until we get them in. O'well, I am a patient person... up to a point.

More tomorrow...

Thanx for being here!
