Journal Entry

A very long and (for me) non-productive day. I was unable to sleep last night because of the coughing, and Karen forced me to make an appointment with the doc.

I was unable to see my doc, but I did see his PA, a very pretty woman about 30 or so. After the usual preliminaries, she told me that I had what a lot of other people have been getting: a viral bronchitis/tracheitis which lasts from six to eight weeks.

So she gave me some biaxin (an antibiotic) to preclude any secondary bacterial infection and an inhaler and some codeine-laced cough suppressant.

Then I got to go see the dentist... as I suspected, I need another crown. He deadened me up (very painfully) and cut off what tooth was left and put in a temporary crown. I have to go back in three weeks to get the permanent one... I hope that they don't lose it like they did the last one!

I came home and had Tyler take me to get the scripts and then we went to the store and got goodies. Karen doesn't buy the right cereal for either Tyler or me, so we went wild in the breakfast-food aisle.

Yesterday I checked on getting a dumpster... $150.00 they want up front! So I decided to just haul the stuff out there myself... rather, have Tyler do it. We came home and loaded him up and sent him off to the dump and I went to bed after taking my meds.

And, no surprise, I went right to sleep, slept until about 18:00, and woke feeling much better... except for my face. The dentist must've hit someplace wrong when he deadened my mouth, because my cheek is swollen and my mouth hurts like hell. O'well. I do feel generally better, though.

Tyler found the telescope tonight, and I showed him how to set it up, he's getting a kick out of it. So far, he's looked at the moon and Jupiter. I kinda gave up on visual astronomy when I started looking at the Hubble pictures... even though it's fun, it just can't compare.

I think that I'll go back to bed now...

Thanx for being here!
