Journal Entry

Sunday, 25 October, 1998 21:50

Another long old day, but not nearly as bad as yesterday.

I got up about 05:00, having slept for about eleven hours. I was pretty well rested. I made coffee and read parts of the paper and then started to work.

Tyler had said that he'd be home about 09:00, but it was closer to 12:00 before we saw his face. He got right to work when he got here, though. Guilt is a wonderful tool in the hands of the proper authorities...

We got all of the insulating done today, and we're ready to start sheet rocking tomorrow. First, however, I'm going out to Lowes and getting another power stapler... the old one died today, and it was a horrible death. And very poor timing, too. We were more than halfway done, and we had to finish up using a hand stapler. Therefore, my hands damn near don't work.

We ended up with less than ten feet of insulation... I guessed that one pretty damn close. Tomorrow when I go to Lowes I need to get insulation for the ceiling. Sheet rocking the ceiling is going to be a challenge...

Did you know that there are four different ways to wire a rheostatic control into a pair of lights? I got it right on the third try, after I diagrammed out the circuit on a piece of paper. The fourth way... well, that's when your lights blow up and your house burns down. I didn't do that.

Very tard, having worked about fourteen hours doing manual labor. I feel really good, though... the end of this project is finally in sight!

More tomorrow...

Thanx for being here!
