Journal Entry

Thursday, 22 October, 1998 20:35

It was another 12-hour day, laboring for fun. I got a lousy night's sleep and I was up before the sun... made coffee and started working.

Lacee had stayed over last night, and she and Karen slept in Tylers bed, since Tyler had gone to sleep immediately after supper on the bed downstairs... he still had his headphones on.

I got Tyler up shortly after Karen and Lacee left and we started working in earnest. Wiring. It's a simple (sometimes) and thoroughly tedious job, but it must be done. So I set Tyler to doing it. Well, I put him to work doing the simpler stuff, while I figgered out how to wire a dual switch for a fan/light combination and mounted the indirect lighting fixtures.

There was a lot of other stuff that we did in between, too, but I can't really remember what it all was. O'yeah, we took out the dining-room carpet... it smelled awfully badly like cat urine, for some reason or another. Damned cats.

They were tearing up the street in front of our house again (still!) and we couldn't get out with the trailer until they got done. When we could finally get out, we hitched up the trailer (after taking the poor damn-near-unused this year bass boat off of it) and headed to Lowes. We got 16 pieces of sheet rock and (hopefully) enough insulation to complete the job. We got home, backed the trailer into the drive and unloaded everything but the sheet rock.

There was a wonderful smell as we came in the door, and we realized that it had been a long time since we'd eaten. I took a shower after supper and I'm now sitting here absolutely exhausted. I think that I'll be able to make it to bed...

Thanx for being here!
