Journal Entry
Geeeez... these twelve-hour shifts are longer than I remember...
And, before I forget...
Immediately following this entry will be yesterdays' entry, which I was totally unable to FTP yesterday. I really hope that I can do better today. See, Mike, I didn't really miss a day... and if you all were on the reminder list you would all know that. But you aren't, so you don't.
So... I'm not used to going in at 19:00. It's usually busier then than at 21:00, and last night was no exception. About 22:30 things calmed down, and I got to sit down and watch parts of the Chiefs game on TV. Apparently they had postponed part of the game due to massive lightning happening over the stadium. They won in a mud-bowl type of game. Very amusing to watch... lots of fumbles and falldowns and stuff like that.
Yesterday was not a good day for sleeping, either. Lots of thunder all day long, it kept shaking the waterbed and waking me up. That, and the coughing... I did get a chest xray last night, it looked OK, so I've just got bronchitis. Not that that's anything to sneeze at...
And I had a student last night, unexpectedly. A nice kid around 23 or so, just getting ready to graduate, and he needed some more clinical hours. Unfortunately, it was not a really good night for learning... no trauma, just more like a pediatric clinic. I'll bet I x-rayed ten kids last night, some of them with some serious pneumonias.
So, like I said, 12 hours is a long shift, and it made me tired, so I'm gonna hit the sack.
Two more nights, then it's 21 days off!
