Journal Entry

Monday, 17 August, 1998 13:19

I'm still feeling like a human being, and I'm amazed. Although I'm still a lazy human being... not much in the way of energy right now.

Ten hours of sleep. That was good.

I did get some yard stuff done yesterday, but I gave up on it when I got way too hot. Inside, in the AC, is much better when it gets over 90F outside.

I had one of those pesky xians email me yesterday... he had absolute proof that god existed, and wanted to convert me. Well, his proof didn't hold water... started off saying that all you need to believe is... faith. Then he'll tell ya what god wants you to know.

And then he applied to admission into the atheist journal webring! Without even having anything approaching a journal on his site... some people. I swear.

I've decided to go ahead and get a CD-RW drive. Anyone out there have any advice on which one to buy? Or even IDE/SCSI? I hate to screw up...

Not much of anything. I went outside to work for a few minutes, but I quickly gave up on it... the heat index is over 100F, that's too much for this guy. It's not that important.

980817.jpg So I went to Best Buy, to check out their CDRs. $400, which I thought was a little rich, from the prices I researched on the web. But... I wouldn't have to wait. Nah, for $100, I can wait.

We have mice! And... Trouble has discovered that he can catch mice... and eat them! Cool! A cat that acts like a cat... I like that in a cat.

We've had cats who behaved like Garfield... mice were their buddies. But Trouble is sitting patiently between the stove and the dishwasher, patiently awaiting his opportunity to grab another of those tasty little critters... Mmmm-MMM!

And I'm trying to figger out how to handle the turn-around this time. I just need to stay up most of the night, some way or another. Not sleeping tomorrow is not an option, my dentist has found my tooth and I've got an appointment Wednesday at 09:30, which means that I'll be up at least until 11:00. I guess I'll think of something. If I don't, I'll just suffer through it.

Andy borrowed my bass boat a week ago, and I kinda wanted to go fishing this morning, but he still hasn't brought it back, and I'm getting more than a little pissed off at him. I don't mind people borrowing things, but when I have to remind them to bring them back, that's going a little too far.

And... I discovered yesterday when I was putting the blade on the mower... someone "borrowed" my quarter-inch ratchet drive out of my toolbox. But, the worst thing was... they didn't latch the toolbox, so when I picked it up, sockets went everywhere. And, once again, I was pissed. And no, it wasn't me... I always latch my toolboxes. I know me too well...

And... someone borrowed my hedge trimmers, probably last year. I remember telling someone that they could use them, but I have no idea who it was. They didn't bring them back, so I'm just gonna assume that it was Andy, put all of the blame on him.

Usta be Matt that got blamed for everything, now it's Andy. O'well, I'll talk to him tonight, I guess.

More tomorrow...

Thanx for being here!
