And speaking of sounding dumb, where did that "Boy Howdy" come from... a long-ago era. That must be the old news.
Good News:
There are some long stories involved here, so bear with me. Actually, that'll be later, 'cause I have to meet the buyer down at the credit union in fifteen minutes...
So... in honor of Ginkgo... or just for the helluvit... I decided not to do my self-portrait today. Now, I know how disappointed everyone will be... so I dug out some old pix of me from the early eighties. Well, I didn't dig them out... I found them while looking for that damned title (more on that later)... and you'll notice that I had hair on the top of my head (some, anyway) and there was no gray anywhere. My beard was down to the middle of my chest... so this was before Tyler threw up in it and I had to cut it off... And I'm assuming that I was drunk, which was my common state at the time. Although I look really sober in the darker ones... maybe somber is a better word.
So... OK with that. So this guy comes over yesterday about noon, and it takes him until about 14:30 to decide that he wants to buy both vehicles. We finally agree on a price. Not what I wanted, of course, but they'll be gone now... out of my yard, out of my life forever, leaving only beautiful (?) memories.
I found the title for the Saab, no problem. Then I proceeded to tear the hell out of the place looking for the one on the van... no luck. I give up, go to bed. Can't sleep, natch. I get up when Karen gets home, tell her my problems, talk a while and go back to bed at 18:00.... then get up to go to work at 19:30. After I get up, I figger out how to fix the guest book, and I do it and it works.
Still haven't figgered out the listserver, though...
The guy buying the vehicles and I had decided to meet at the credit union at 09:00. Well, I get there, and they don't open until 09:30. Taking advantage of the time, I beat it down to the court house to see about getting a duplicate title. Then I beat it back to the credit union, the guy is there waiting for me.
I talked to him, and we agreed to meet in about 45 minutes, after I'd gotten the dup title. I go down to the SOB(State Office Building) get a number and wait. Finally I get to do my stuff, and I find out that no, you can't get the title today, you have to wait until tomorrow. BS, but no getting around it.
Go back to the credit union, meet the guy and give him the notarized released title for the Saab, he gives me the money... and we agree to meet at the BC/BS credit union in the morning at 10:30 to conclude our deal... with me having a title, hopefully.
And I really don't have time to get into the modem deal today... Tard, tard, tard. Must sleep.

As some of you may have noticed, there was a blurb for Ginkgo in yesterday's entry, and I will repeat it again today and for the next week.
This is Ginkgo Week in some parts of the journalling community... most parts. Ginkgo has a very fine site with lots of original grafix and really heart-felt journal entries. She's one of my favorite daily reads, and a bunch of us (I was a johnnie-come-lately) have decided to celebrate her this week. She is a very creative and warmhearted person... go visit her site.
