Current Journal Entry

Well, I thought that I'd better write this and get it posted before I start my main project of the day... installing my 56K modem on the Compaq. And history indicates that I probably won't be back online for a while...

Good news... I've got two people coming over around noon to look at the vehicles. Got my fingers crossed... really need the money... really need to get them out of the yard.

I still haven't got the guestbook working.... haven't got the list working... probably won't have the Compaq working later, either... but I'm learning a lot of stuff about Linux and permissions and crap like that. It will all come together in one big "A-HAH!" real soon now, I hope. If it doesn't, I've wasted a lot of time.

But I'm going to wait a coupla more days before I go back to the old notification/reminder method. I'll give LiquidWeb (and myself) one more try before I give up on them (and me...).

I've also got my new 56K modem for the laptop, so I do have a backup system kinda in place. My plans are... install the new modem in the Compaq, then install WIN95. Hopefully, I won't have the same problems that I had last time with finding the modem. If I do... if I do... I don't know what I'll do. Cry, I guess. I haven't had a good cry in a long time... and what better to cry over than a computer?

As some of you may have noticed, there was a blurb for Ginkgo in yesterday's entry, and I will repeat it again today and for the next week. Ginkgo.jpgThis is Ginkgo Week in some parts of the journalling community... most parts. Ginkgo has a very fine site with lots of original grafix and really heart-felt journal entries. She's one of my favorite daily reads, and a bunch of us (I was a johnnie-come-lately) have decided to celebrate her this week. She is a very creative and warmhearted person... go visit her site.

I've been listening to KANU, our local public station, a lot lately... I finally got a stereo system set up in the basement computer room. I love the classical stuff they devote mornings and afternoons to.

Damn! I just remembered that I go back to work tonight. I've been trying to push that out of my mind, 980623.jpgI guess. I got too much sleep last night, so I probably can't take a nap, which means that I will be totally wasted. I hate that.

Well, it's time to get the screwdrivers and the brain out... here I go!

Thanx for being here!
