Arrrrgh.
Last night was a make-up night. I made up for sitting on my butt the previous two nights. I wore holes in the heels of both of my socks, if that is any indication. I don't think that I've ever done that before.

Nothing big, nothing interesting. Just workworkwork. I did have some real nice patients, too, and no crummy ones. Well, one guy was pretty drunk, but he was jovial.

It's starting to get to be Fly Time! Yes, that time of the year when my main amusement is killing flies with a tourniquet. Mostly in the smoking area, but I will hunt wherever there's game to be hunted. Cafeteria, ER, just about anyplace.

And the flies tremble when they hear my name. Well, some of them do, those that understand English. And then there are the ones that challenge me... fly, fly fly, never land. Fly right in my damned face, some of them will. Teasing me... and they usually die. 980619.jpgUnless my beeper goes off, or they beat it out of the area while I'm killing the easier prey. They're the ones who land anywhere within a five-foot radius of me.

Killing an airborn fly with a piece of rubber is an accomplishment that not many people appreciate. In fact, I've met absolutely no-one who appreciates it at all. Most people won't even try it. They don't know what they're missing out on... the vast feeling of accomplishment, the knowledge that you hold a life-and-death power over the flies in your immediate vicinity... you can choose which will live and which will die, and they don't know what to expect. Maybe they pray to me to spare them.

Maybe I listen sometimes....

Nah...

I didn't get much sleep yesterday once again... I watched the weather channel before I went to bed around 12:00, and there were no storms around us at all, according to the radar. Than, just as I was dropping off, I heard a banging, and I thought someone was at the door. Got up to see... and it was raining cats & dogs! Thunder, lightning and all that stuff. Where the hell did that come from? It must've formed right overhead!

Anyway, once I reach that stage of getting to sleep, and get woke up, it's damned hard to get back to sleep. I think that it was 14:30 the last time that I looked at the clock. Then I woke up right before the alarm went off at 19:30.

So I'm tard. And, as usual, I'm going to try to get some sleep.

O'yeah! The new notify/reminder/mail-list thingy is now operational... I think(?) Try it out and we'll see...

Thanx for being here!
