Wow, like having problems with one computer wasn't enough... yesterday while I was trying to take a nap, Patrick and Brian were playing on the computer. I don't know how they did it, because I don't think that I could have done it it I was trying... but they made the CDROM drive disappear.

No biggie, just re-install the drive, huh. Heh. Did that. Buncha times. Did everything else that I could think of, too. Took the case apart, checked the connections. All OK.

So I checked the device manager. The CDROM controller was there... but shit! What's this? My Primary HD controller had a big yellow question mark on it. This is not good. I re-booted to see what would happen. I didn't like what happened... not at all.

Back to DOS. I took all of the files on C: except for the windows folder and put them on D:. Then I tried some other stuff... like using my tape backup. Huh-uh. That didn't work. I need to learn how to use that damned thing...

So anyway, I go back to the Compaq quick-restore. After all, I have all of my files safe on D:... right? Right.

So I go through that rigamarole. Getting everything set up again. I've got all of my downloaded stuff on my E: drive, so all I have to do is go back and reinstall it... but my fucking E: drive is blank. No files there, no folders, no nuthin'.

O'yeah, and I kept my mail on the E:drive, too... so I lost all of my addresses, too. And all of my mail... again.

I am so discouraged. I'll never learn. No, on the other hand, I will learn... I'll learn tomorrow how to use the tape drive. And how to make regular backups.

Karen is better now... she stayed home from work today, and she starts getting blotchy if she doesn't take her meds on time... kinda like a reminder!

And I am really really tired of this computer.

O'yeah... no pic today, can't get that to work right now, tired of trying...

Thanx for being here!
