In the middle of the night... or, better yet, "It was a dark and stormy night..."

I did get some good sleep in yesterday finally. I can't even remember when I went to sleep, but it was shortly after my head hit the pillow. I woke up once to pee, got the mail (not the email), noticed that it was a beautiful day, and went back to sleep.

The next time I woke up it was about 19:00; Karen was watching the TV, which was showing a tornado-brewing storm just north of Topeka. Not long after that, the sirens went off. We have some trigger-happy storm spotters... probably with long memories.... back to 1966.

Matt is a trained tornado-spotter, and was performing his assigned duties when he was interviewed by a local TV station. Lisa called to let Karen know that she saw it, but we missed it... watching the other station, dammit. Matts 15 minutes of fame, and we missed it!

Well, after that storm cleared out there was another one moving in, this time aimed right at Topeka, but it turned out to just be heavy rain, no wind or hail involved. I left for work just as it started and managed to not get soaked.

I brought the notebook in to work with me tonight, I thought I'd see if I can't get connected to the net from work. Something else to pass the time when I'm not busy...

And I wasn't too busy last night, after the initial flurry (that lasted until 02:00!) so I decided to try to connect to the net... played and played and played and still never got it to work. re-installed the modem six times before it really liked it... and then... I think that there's the possibility that I was dialing the wrong number... all I got was a message saying that the computer on the other end wasn't answering. I just hope that I wasn't repeatedly waking some little lady up every ten minutes in the middle of the night...

O'shit! And that's exactly what happened... no, not the little old lady part... but the wrong number part. My ears are turning red from the embarrassment... damndamndamn. Again dyslexia... or a mere transposition. 980611.jpgI should call the wrong number and see who answers and apologize if it's a little old lady... no, I'll just let it be. No, I'll call... maybe. Sometime later. Much later.

Decisions/decisions.

Procrastinate, procrastinate. Yeah, I can do that OK.

There are a coupla new members of the . Go see them, they're mendacity and exist. I haven't yet had time to explore their sites, but I will in the near future.

I think that I just might stay up and do that now, since I had a lot of sleep yesterday...

Thanx for being here!
