And just what is the essential difference between teen angst and middle-age angst? The teen thinks that there might be answers...

I'm losing my "nilknarf@atheist.com" address come 31 MAY. I thought it was a lifetime deal, but no dice. So, there are still several addresses that work:nilknarf@networksplus.net, which will be imbedded in all of the mailtos on my site, nilknarf@nilknarf.net, which is a forwarder from my virtual domain, and doug@nilknarf.net, which is another forwarder.

Crummy nights sleep... went to bed about 23:00, I had to move Lacee, and she wasn't asleep yet, so there was a scene. I went to sleep anyway... for a while. Then about 01:00 I was wakened by Karen jabbing me in the ribs with her elbow. What was she doing on my side of the bed? Well, Lacee was on the other side of her. I nudged Karen over enough to get some room and went back to sleep... until about 03:00, when Karen got up and declared that Lacee was going to be in the middle.

Lacee is the weirdest little kid when she sleeps, I don't know how she gets any rest at all, 'cause I sure can't. She moves, grunts, snores, twitches or spasms on the average of once every thirty seconds. Seriously. I would lay there and count, "one thousand one, one thousand two..." and the longest period that I observed that she was still was for 111 seconds.

So I got up and noticed that the door was locked, so I figgered JD and Lisa were home... but their car wasn't there when I went out to smoke. They returned in a few minutes, though, I guess that it was around 04:00. Good thing that I got up, they don't have a door key, they would've had to pound on the door and wake someone up.

I went back to bed around 05:30, determined to get some sleep, and dozed off and on until about 07:00 when Lacee finally woke up. Then I got some sleep, until about 10:30 or so.

And I found that one person had been able to sign my guestbook, while another couldn't. Weirdness reigns over my virtual website.

Speaking of websites, I must make mention that I got the tip on LiquidWeb from Mikia, who has had her site there for a while. Thanx again, Mikia!

I have decided to go with frames for my archives, not really understanding what an undertaking that would be. Besides the enormity of the task, I had forgotten everything that I once knew... but now I know it again, having learned, again, the hard way.

The overhead on the archives is more than half of the file size, 2/3rds in many cases. This has bothered me for a long time. I knew that the answer was frames, but there is always so much objection to frames, unless they're "done right"

And right now, I've got a lot of room for the archives... but that's not the point. The way it is now, I'm using more space, taking 980523.jpgup more bandwidth, than I should. Being a conservationist-type person, this has grated on me.

Eventually, I think that I shall take the whole site back to frames; but right now, I'm just gonna do the archives... that's enough to start with.

JD and Lisa have gone to see that show about Las Vegas... I don't remember the name, but Gabby had a mini-review on her mailing list, and made up my mind for me: I will leave it unseen. Instead, Karen and I set out to watch To Hell and Back with Audie Murphy, but Karen started falling asleep, so she went to bed and I thought that I'd better finish this up.

Tomorrow morning I'm heading down to Enid to set up the computer for mom. JD and Lisa will follow me, whether literally or a few hours behind depends on when they get up. I will come back on Monday, and they will depart for Texas, since JD has to be back to work on Tuesday.

It has been really nice having them here. I will miss them a bunch.

Thanx for being here!
