Finally... a good nights' sleep. I'm feeling relatively human now, I've had about a pot of coffee.

17:27...

A little interruption there... everyone went to Winsteads for lunch and, being hungry, I decided to go with them. And I got in trouble with Karen for wanting to sit in the smoking section.

Yesterday... was not a fun day. Well, parts of it were fun, but most of it wasn't. I got a lot of stuff done early in the AM when I got off work, but then I started slowing down.

But I finally got the sonovabitch mower running... I took the carburetor apart again and probed every orifice with a fine wire from a screen, put it back together and it worked! And that was part of my problem later in the day...

So I started mowing the weeds and bare dirt that comprise my "lawn"; and I was going along pretty good, just cutting stuff up, not bagging it... and suddenly I got really tired, so I decided to take a break. And as I was taking a break, I noticed that my right eyeball was hurting.

Yes, I had been wearing glasses... sunglasses, but pretty good protection, I thought... but somehow or another, something had gotten around them, probably a double-bank shot off my cheek, then my glasses and on into my eyeball. So I spend quite a bit of time looking for dirt in my eye or something like that unsuccessfully. So I give up on it, decide to take a nap.

That's a no-go, though... my eyeball hurts too much. Mostly when my eye is closed, which means that I've lacerated the center of my cornea. So I can't close my eyes and go to sleep, but my eye doesn't really hurt if I keep it open and don't blink.

That would be OK, but I'm approaching 28 hours without sleep, and I really wanna go to sleep a little. So I finally do for about 1 1/2 hours, until the pain wakes me up. After that, 980419.jpgI stayed awake until about 24:00, when I just couldn't stay awake, pain or no pain. And I slept until about 11:00. My eye is still a little bit sore and teary, but not bad altogether. Of course, if I would've gone in to get some antibiotic opthalmic ointment, It would've been completely healed, but it wasn't really all that bad. I have lacerated my eyeball badly in the past, one time even piercing the globe... and it healed within 24 hours. Eyes are amazing.

Anyway, I'm going to look in the paper for someone to come over and till up the yard and fertilize it and seed it. It's just too big of a job for me, or I'm too lazy, I don't know which. But it has gone from a little bit of grass and some weeds to no grass and lotsa weeds in the last year, and it really looks like shit and it's starting to bother me, so it's time to do something about it.

And it's a beautiful day, much too pretty to be doing any work.

Thanx for being here!
