My prognostication skills were put to the test yesterday... we were supposed to get hit with another blizzard, but I said publicly to several people that the snow wouldn't get any further north than Osage City. Turns out that I was right. I wish that I could get paid for doing that... and, as a bonus, the sun is shining this morning!
A little more about the ape that was CTed the other night... it was brought into the hospital under cover of darkness, but with the permission of the powers that be. It was fully sedated when it got there, and the CT was done expediently. The zoo vet had felt a mass in its abdomen, and wanted to know how extensive it was before she did surgery. The mass was quite a bit larger than she had expected, but so far no one has found out how the surgery came out... the mass appeared to arise from the lower pole of the kidney. In a human, this would be bad, and I can't imagine the prognosis being any better in an ape...
Fairly slow night last night, and I got a lot of sleep yesterday. Sleep really improves my attitude!
They didn't make a decision about the director's job yesterday, although they said that they would. I will put off applying for the special procedures job until I know about the director's job.
Karen is going to be off all next week... damn, I wish that I could get off at least a day earlier! But I've begged everyone who could work for me... just outa luck, I guess.
But I did get my time off approved for the Journal-fest!
And I thought I'd show you how cool and sexy I look when I'm smoking...
