980311 While you were sleeping...

More snow in the central plains... in Topeka, specifically. One-to-three inches before it quits, and the wind from hell and colder 'n shit, to boot. Winter with a dying vengeance... O'well, we enjoyed January and February!

Complaining about, or even remarking on, the weather is a pretty useless passtime. It's a good ice-breaker for when strangers meet... but we're hardly strangers, now, are we? Unfortunately, I'm a weather nut... I talk to my friends about the weather, I talk to my wife about the weather... sure, everyone thinks that I'm boring, but so what?

Wow. This was not a boring night! Everything was pretty much copacetic until about 03:00 when all hell seemed to break loose. Well, not really, but I was busy from then until about 07:30. One of the techs called in (she's not been doing well since her mother died almost two weeks ago) so we were short and the ED was busy... seems like people were falling down a lot this morning. Duh, people... snow and ice=slick surface. Hold on to something. Don't go out there. You have options, I hope.

Cold... and the hot tub needs filling again. I had to find the snow shovel and shovel the back deck until I could find the short hose that I use to fill the hot tub with so I could bring it in and thaw it out. Now my feet are wet and cold.

The ISP that I just hooked up with had an ad in Sunday's paper for a position... they're paying about what I make at the hospital... and I wouldn't have to watch people die... well, maybe I would still watch people die virtual deaths... they don't pay their bill, flip that switch, let 'em scream into the void that is not the net. Say, that sounds like fun, don't it?

Sometimes I hate this world, but just for fleeting seconds. During those seconds, I really feel shitty, and then I remember that I know people who feel that way constantly.

Boy, am I ever glad that I'm me and not someone else... someone who can't appreciate the beauty of our world, despite it's imperfections... and ours.

That seems to be a good place to end....

Thanx for being here!
