A very productive day, after a lousey night's sleep. Weird dreams again... this time, I was petting the kitten and I had fleas under my fingernails, squirming around. That's a really uncomfortable situation. I've never dreamed anything like that before.
Anyhoo, my main project for the day was re-arranging the computer room. The way it was set up, the glare from the windows was always on the screen. Well, OK, not always, never at night... so I rotated my desk (a 4X7-foot solid wood door) and moved the formerly-integral bookcase (8X5 foot) to the wall formerly occupied by the desk.
I also cleaned up everything and re-routed all of my wires, and got the electrical switches in practical places... they weren't before. And I raised the monitor up eight inches, so I don't have to slump in my chair to see it correctly.
And I got the camera hooked up, so there will be a Nilk-cam soon, at least part-time, for an hour at a time... shareware deal, y'know. I'm looking around for other (hopefully free) software, though. The kind I downloaded last night is what Willa uses.
I also have the VCR ready to hook up, but I haven't quite got around to it yet. I did drag out and clean up the hutch that I had kinda put together and used for a while and then abandoned. So I've got a lot more shelf space now... so I can accumulate more junk, I guess.
As a bye-the-bye, I worked some on cleaning up the basement. Since I was going back and forth and up and down, I made it a point to pick something up every time I went downstairs and vice-versa. You know the principle... never go anywhere empty-handed. It works really well when I remember to do it.
I also found a beautiful piece of wood, which I am going to use to build a hanger for the plastic utensils we use with the teflon cookware. I've been threatening to do that for a coupla years, and today's the day.
So, I think that I'll go make another pot of coffee and start to work on that project. I also want to get a picture of my new arrangement to show you...
I got that project done, and mounted the weight machine in the basement too. And unloaded the dishwasher and cleaned the kitchen. As I was cleaning the oven I found a Pizza Hut box, with several remaining pieces of pizza... fortunately, not my type, or I would've been upset.
Karen has a party to go to after work, but she'll be home about 19:00, and she will be surprised as hell with the progress I've made during this day.
As for me, I think that I'll take a shower and begin relaxing.
