Jeez! Another beautiful Kansas day! We have certainly been lucky lately, but that is about to come to an end shortly, I'm afraid.
Karen and I got up fairly early today... drank a couple pots of coffee, then she went out to have dinner with Andy and I went to Best Buy. I got a couple more tapes for backup and a TV card from TV-PCI. I installed it, and it was about 13:30 when I got finished, so I cleaned up and went off to see the dentist.
He took a film of the affected area, and, sure enough, there is a cavity in my wisdom tooth. So out it must come. I was hoping that he would yank it out himself, but he deferred; so I'll go have the oral surgeon do it next Wednesday. Bright and early, 08:00, so I can then come home (hopefully with some potent pain pills) and sleep. So far, I don't really have any plans for my next rotation off.
Anyway, after I got done with the dentist, I decided to hook up the videocamera to the new card. I got the camera out... but I couldn't find the charger for the battery. The camera can run off of the charger, too, so I don't really need the battery... but I do need the charger. And it is nowhere around!
I'm really anal when it comes to losing things. I cannot rest until they're accounted for, one way or another. And I can remember exactly where it was the last time I saw it... plugged in under the dining-room table... and that was before Andy's wedding... and Lisa... Lisa came over to clean...
Lisa. Lisa did something with it. O'great! Now I gotta figger out what Lisa would do with it! That's even worse than figgering out what I might've done with it...
Anyway, when I find the damned thing (and I Will find it!) I will have some pix to put up here. I've even been toying with the idea of having a Nilkycam... just another way to bore people, but kinda fun. At least the people that I know that have them set up seem to have fun with them...
Karen and I are going to run out to the mall, so I can get a battery for the cordless phone and some other odds and ends from Radio Shack. Then... I should try to stay up really late tonight, and sleep all day tomorrow, so I can got to work tomorrow night and be ready for action!
I've kinda lost the impetus on the changes around here. The more I mess with it, the more I like it the way it is. If anyone out there has any ideas on how to improve on it, please let let me know!
Last night, Dawnelle set up a surprise birthday party for Willa on the WillaChat, and she also had a really nice birthday page for her. Well, I'm not one for chatting... very seldom try, even... but this was fun. I kept getting booted off, though (by the computer, not by the other people there!) and finally everyone had enough and signed off, but not until after Willa came on and told us all about (well, some about) her new cat.
There are some really nice people out there... (Dawnelle, Amy, Carol, and... and... damndamndamn, I forget his name! Anyway, he's 19, has a journal, lives in Florida... I can't think of the name of his journal, but I know that I've read some of it... looked through the OP backup, didn't recognize it there... getting old is tough, ain't it? Apologies, Chris? OK, I think it's Chris...)almost makes you forget about all of the assholes...
